Thijs van Dooremalen investigated the framing of 9/11 in the media, politics and policy. He compared the Netherlands, the United States and France  in the period 2001-2015. He wants to contribute to the sociology of ‘events’ – events that are perceived by people to be so large, shocking or significant that, in response, they change their way of thinking, feeling and acting.
