World Peace: Doable?

Erik de Baedts, Director of the Carnegie Foundation managing the Peace Palace in The Hague, the one and only Peace Palace in the world, will share his answer to the key question 'World Peace: Doable?'. He will take you on a journey through the Peace Palace and explain the work that is done daily at the palace by the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the International Court of Justice of the United Nations, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the Carnegie Foundation, including its Peace Palace Library.

About the speaker

In 2015 Erik de Baedts was appointed as Director of the Carnegie Foundation – Peace Palace and Treasurer of the Hague Academy of International Law. From the Peace Palace, he actively promotes the notions of peace through law, education, culture and dialogue worldwide. Erik de Baedts studied Law at the University of Amsterdam.
