Student project grants

The Amsterdam University Fund may award grants for projects, events and activities organised by and for UvA students. These grants exist thanks to the support of Amsterdam University Fund donors. Grants may be available for projects that support academic practice, academic/cultural heritage, and UvA student life.

Supplementary contribution

The grant is a supplementary contribution and is aimed at projects that cannot be financed through ordinary University funding sources. The level of the grant is determined on a case by case basis.

If the grant is awarded, the Amsterdam University Fund will pay the grant ahead of the start of the project. Upon return you are required to submit a travel report (see report guidelines) and your final financial accounts for the project. Travel reports can be used in our communications with donors to inform them about the expenditures of the funds.

Production expenses for publications such as magazines, doctoral theses, academic publications and commemorative publications do not qualify for a grant. We also will not accept applications for grants to fund projects that may be funded in other ways (such as through grants or sponsorship already awarded).
