Claudi Bockting, professor of Clinical Psychology within Psychiatry
Prof. C.L.H. Bockting (1969) has been appointed professor of Clinical Psychology within Psychiatry at the University of Amsterdam’s Faculty of Medicine (AMC-UvA).
Claudi Bockting’s research focuses on common mental health disorders such as depression. These disorders are characterised by emotional disturbances. Bockting specifically studies the potential influencing factors that cause and/or maintain a disorder and focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative interventions that aim to increase the prospect of long-term recovery in people struggling with severe mental health disorders.
As professor at the UvA, Bockting will focus on the development of etiological models for depression and related disorders (complexity approach in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Study), on evaluating the effect of innovative psychological interventions and multimodal interventions in randomised studies and micro-studies, and on increasing the accessibility of effective interventions with the use of technology (in low and middle-income countries and those with a lower socio-economic status).
