Integration elements for third-country nationals

21Sept2017 12:00 - 13:00

PhD defence ceremony

In the past two decades, integration requirements for third-country nationals (TCNs) have proliferated. Tamar de Waal tries to understand and evaluate this development. She examines the relationship and potential tensions between the proclaimed commitment of EU states to the core liberal-democratic values of the EU (democracy, rule of law, equality, respect for human rights, etc.) and their actual immigration, integration and naturalization processes.
